This stunning twin hearted brooch was intended for a loved one and dates from approx. 100 years ago. Made in gold metal (possibly pinchbeck or brass) it is beautifully finished with entwined ivy leaf decoration between the two hearts.

Mizpah is an emotional bond between people who are separated (either physically or by death) and therefore ‘Mizpah’ brooches were often given by servicemen to their sweethearts as they went off to war.
